In the Karabağlar district of İzmir, a person assaulted the driver of a taxi he was riding in, claiming that the driver took a longer route. The taxi driver, who pulled the car over to safety, filed a complaint against the individual, while the moments of the assault were captured by the vehicle's interior camera.
Şenol Ü., a 60-year-old taxi driver who has been working in İzmir for 25 years, picked up two passengers, one of whom was a woman, in the Bozyaka neighborhood of the Karabağlar district on May 31.
ASSAULTED AT THE WHEEL
After a while, the male passenger sitting in the front seat of the vehicle started arguing with the taxi driver, claiming that the route was extended. As the argument escalated, the passenger assaulted Şenol Ü.
FILED A COMPLAINT
Şenol Ü stopped his vehicle in front of the Bozyaka Service Building of the Provincial Police Department and filed a complaint against the suspect.
"IT'S ALREADY 120 LIRA FOR GETTING IN AND OUT"
Driver Şenol Ü expressed his sadness about the incident, saying, "He says you extended the route, but that's not true. The fare between the pickup point and the argument point is 140 lira. It's already 120 lira for getting in and out. There was no such thing as taking a longer route."
THE INCIDENT RECORDED BY THE VEHICLE CAMERA
The argument and assault in the taxi were recorded by the in-car camera.
