After Muhittin Böcek, who was arrested and suspended from duty as part of the bribery and corruption investigation into the CHP-led Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, and his son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, his daughter-in-law Zuhal Böcek also applied to benefit from effective remorse provisions. It was learned that Zuhal Böcek gave additional testimony at the prosecutor's office today.

New developments are unfolding one after another in the 'bribery' and 'corruption' investigation targeting the CHP-affiliated Antalya Metropolitan Municipality.

MUHITTIN BOCEK'S DAUGHTER-IN-LAW ALSO BECAME A CONFESSANT

Muhittin Bocek, who was arrested and suspended from his mayoral duties as part of the investigation, and his son Mustafa Gokhan Bocek, were brought to the Antalya Courthouse yesterday from the Antalya L-Type Closed Prison in the Dosemealti district, after applying to benefit from the effective remorse provisions at the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Within the framework of the investigation, Mustafa Gokhan Bocek's statement was taken first, followed by Muhittin Bocek giving his statement to the prosecution. It was learned that during the statement process, questions were asked regarding the allegations, evidence, and various aspects of the investigation in the case file.

Finally, after Muhittin Bocek and his son, his detained daughter-in-law Zuhal Bocek also applied to benefit from the effective remorse provisions. It was learned that Zuhal Bocek gave an additional statement to the prosecution today.

IN HER FIRST STATEMENT, SHE DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS

As part of the investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the allegation of 'bribery' in connection with Muhittin Bocek's candidacy, who was suspended from his position as Antalya Metropolitan Mayor, a detention order was issued for three suspects, including his daughter-in-law Zuhal Bocek. In this context, among the suspects detained by police on April 30, Zuhal Bocek was arrested on May 3, while the other two were released.

In her statement to the prosecution, Zuhal Bocek stated that she did not know what her husband Gokhan Bocek did for a living or what his sources of income were. In the messages found in the digital evidence review, Zuhal Bocek, who claimed that Gokhan Bocek transported cocaine using municipal vehicles, sustained his life with 10% commissions from tenders, and laundered 75 million TL for his ex-wife, denied these allegations during questioning.

Explaining that her husband comes from a wealthy family, paid off his parents' debts, and provided financial support, Bocek said, "I have never seen Gokhan come home with a bag full of money. I did not know he used drugs. Once, I saw white powder residue in his wallet. I suspected Gokhan was using drugs. After that, I started searching his wallet and such. Although the forensic medicine report states that I used drugs, I have never used drugs in my life."
