Kremlin spokesman Peskov stated that forcing a regime change in Iran is unacceptable and that a possible assassination of Iranian leader Khamenei would "open Pandora's box."

The war that began on June 13, initiated by Israel and named "Rising Lion," has entered its 8th day, starting with retaliatory attacks by Iran, which it called "True Promise."

THE TOLL IS HEAVY

In Israel's attacks, at least 227 people have died, including high-ranking military officials such as Iranian Chief of General Staff Bakiri and Commander of the Revolutionary Guards Selami. In its retaliation, Iran targeted Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa with hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles, in addition to drones (UAVs). Due to Iranian missiles that bypassed Israel's air defense systems, at least 25 people lost their lives. The number of injured has been reported to exceed 500.

ANOTHER THREAT FROM RUSSIA

The war between Israel and Iran continues with full intensity on its 8th day. While Iran destroyed Israel's cybersecurity center with missiles, a new threat from Russia towards Israel has emerged.

"THE BOX OF PANDORA WILL BE OPENED"

Kremlin spokesperson Peskov stated that forcing a regime change in Iran would be unacceptable and warned that a possible assassination of Iranian leader Khamenei would "open the box of Pandora."

"REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN IS UNACCEPTABLE"

Speaking to Sky News, Peskov commented on the conflict that began with Israel's attacks on Iran. He noted that if Israel were to carry out an assassination of Khamenei with the help of the U.S., Russia's response would be very negative, stating, "We absolutely do not approve of this." Peskov added, "(Regime change in Iran) is unimaginable. It must be unacceptable; even discussing it should be unacceptable for everyone."

Peskov did not provide any explanation on what steps Russia would take in the event of an assassination of Khamenei, saying, "This will lead to the emergence of extremist moods within Iran, and those who talk about (killing Khamenei) should keep this in mind. They will open the box of Pandora." Peskov emphasized that the situation is extremely tense and dangerous not only for the region but globally, warning that the potential expansion of the conflict's parties could be even more dangerous.

"WE ARE QUITE TOLERANT"

Peskov stated that the possibility of other countries getting involved in the situation between the two countries would create another cycle of conflict in the region and would also lead to an escalation of tensions. Peskov noted that Trump’s words, "mediate in your own conflict," which rejected President Vladimir Putin's offers to mediate in the conflict, were not insulting. He remarked that Trump has "his own unique style of speaking and language," adding, "We are quite tolerant, and we expect everyone to be tolerant towards us as well."
