Famous singer Shakira, in an interview before the Met Gala, unintentionally revealed the pregnancy news of Rihanna, who had not yet appeared on the red carpet. While mentioning Rihanna's pregnancy live on air, Shakira realized immediately afterward that she had made a big blunder. However, Rihanna arrived at the Met Gala at the end of the night and officially announced her pregnancy.
Shakira, in an interview before the Met Gala, accidentally revealed a big secret. The Colombian singer let slip the pregnancy news of Rihanna, who had not yet appeared on the red carpet, during a live broadcast.
When NBC News reporter asked Shakira, "Who are you excited to see tonight?" the star eagerly replied, "I want to see Rihanna, I miss her so much and I heard the news." Realizing the reporter didn't understand, she explained, "Pregnant!"
Immediately realizing she had made a big blunder, Shakira covered her face with her hands and asked, "Was it right for me to say that?" and walked away from the cameras, blushing with embarrassment.
Rihanna later arrived at the Met Gala as the final guest of the night at 10 PM, officially announcing her pregnancy with a striped skirt that showcased her growing belly, a form-fitting gray top, and a short jacket. The 37-year-old singer is expecting her third child with partner A$AP Rocky. The couple has two sons, one aged 3 (RZA) and the other 21 months old (Riot Rose).
In previous interviews, Rihanna had expressed her desire to have a daughter, stating, "The only thing I haven't achieved so far is having a girl. The probability of my next child being a boy is 75%, but we are hopeful."
Fans had been discussing on social media that Rihanna had been wearing loose clothing in recent months and had missed the Met Gala during her previous pregnancies. Just a few hours before Shakira's blunder, photos of Rihanna showing her pregnant belly while leaving the Carlyle Hotel had also leaked to the press.
The Grammy-winning star had previously mentioned in an interview that she is quite protective about her children, saying, "If you talk about my kids, you're done. I'm a psychopath about it."
