In Kağıthane, Istanbul, a minibus lost control of its driver and crashed into a crowd of pedestrians. One person died in the accident, and four others were injured, three of them seriously. The incident was recorded second by second by the security camera of a nearby business.
A minibus with license plate 34 LAA 224, whose driver Osman K. lost control, crashed into pedestrians on the sidewalk in Kağıthane. The minibus, which had lost its brakes, stopped after hitting a parked car with license plate 34 HMS 673.
1 PERSON DEAD, 3 PEOPLE SERIOUSLY INJURED
Upon receiving reports from witnesses of the accident, police, fire brigade, and emergency medical teams arrived at the scene. During the teams' checks, it was determined that Elif Ö. (44), Ayşegül S. (52), and H.Ç.Ö. (9) were seriously injured as pedestrians on the sidewalk, while Mesut Kılıç (51) was found to have died at the scene. The driver Osman K. was also injured. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances after the initial interventions at the scene.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED
The body of Mesut Kılıç, who lost his life, was taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institution after the police completed their investigations in the area. The police have launched an investigation into the accident.
