After an investigation was launched regarding the cutting down of numerous olive trees on land claimed to belong to him in the Milas district of Muğla, Ahmet Kılbey, who resigned from his position as the district chairman of the CHP, was fined 36,762 lira for 27 trees.

OLIVE TREES CUT DOWN
Following news reports titled 'Olive Massacre in Milas' in some local media, the Muğla Governorship initiated an investigation. The investigation revealed that a large number of olive trees were cut down on the land with parcel number 26 in block 109 located in the Menteş neighborhood of Milas.
36 THOUSAND 762 LIRA FINE
In the investigation conducted by the governorship, it was claimed that the land where the olives were cut down belonged to CHP District Chairman Ahmet Kılbey. In a statement made by the Muğla Governorship, it was expressed that the necessary administrative and legal processes regarding the incident had been initiated, the investigation was ongoing, and the public would be informed after the completion of the examinations.
After the inspection conducted by the teams of the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, a fine of 36,762 lira was imposed on Kılbey for 27 trees.
