Following the announcement that "a consensus has been reached on fundamental principles" after the second round of nuclear negotiations between the US and Iran in Geneva, the prices of precious metals experienced a decline. With the agreement between Washington and Tehran, the price of gold per gram, which lost 1.90% in value, dropped to 6,800 TL levels. The decline in silver surpassed that of gold.
The second round of nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran, which has drawn the attention of the entire world, has been completed in Geneva.
IRAN: WE HAVE AGREED ON BASIC PRINCIPLES After approximately 2.5 hours of discussions, the first statement came from the Iranian side. Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi stated in an interview with state media that the talks had made "good progress" compared to the previous round. Arakchi mentioned that both sides agreed to work on draft texts for a possible agreement and to determine the date of the next round after mutual review of the texts. He also added that both sides have positions that will take time to reconcile, but they have agreed on basic principles.

Gold, which was trading at around $4,918 per ounce before the meeting, dropped by 1.90% to around $4,880 with the agreement between Washington and Tehran. As of 5:15 PM, the price of gold per gram is trading at 6,880 TL.
THE DECLINE IN SILVER IS EVEN GREATER The pullback in silver was even larger than that in gold. Silver, which showed a decline of 3.64%, was priced at $74.17 per ounce and 104 TL per gram as of 5:15 PM.
