A 19-year-old step-uncle who abused a 6-year-old girl in Iran and caused her death was publicly executed. Additionally, the stepmother involved in the case was sentenced to 15 years in prison as part of the investigation that was initiated.
On January 16, in the city of Bukan, located in Iran's West Azerbaijan province, the execution of a 19-year-old man who sexually abused a 6-year-old girl, leading to her death due to severe injuries, was carried out in public.
HE CONFESSED HIS CRIME
The Chief Prosecutor of West Azerbaijan Province, Nasir Atabati, stated in a press release that the incident caused deep sorrow and anger in the community, saying, "The defendant confessed to the crime of sexual assault against the child. The case was handled urgently and meticulously. At the end of the trial, a death sentence was issued, and his punishment was carried out this morning."
THE CHILD HAD BEEN ABUSED FOR A LONG TIME
Reports in the media indicated that the girl had been subjected to prolonged sexual and physical abuse by her stepmother's 19-year-old brother. It was reported that the individual kept the child under pressure secretly for months and that the events were hidden from the family. After the child's health deteriorated, she was taken to the hospital, where examinations revealed signs of beating, burns, and serious injuries on her body, and despite all interventions, she could not be saved.
FAMILY MEMBERS SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON
As part of the investigation launched regarding the incident, it was reported that the girl's stepmother and a woman deemed connected to the case were taken into custody. It was learned that at the end of the judicial process, the 19-year-old defendant was sentenced to death, while some family members were sentenced to 15 years in prison.
