It has been revealed that Turkish truck driver Işık A. pulled a female driver, who was trapped between two trucks and whose vehicle was on fire, out of the flames, and the 40-year-old Turk has been declared a hero in the country.
HE ENTERED THE FLAMES WITHOUT HESITATION
According to reports in the Canadian press, in the chain collision involving 50 vehicles, a car caught fire while being trapped between two trucks. As seconds became critical for the woman driver trapped in the vehicle, 40-year-old Turkish truck driver Işık A. intervened in the burning vehicle without hesitation.
According to eyewitnesses and fire department officials, Işık A. broke the car's window with his hand and pulled the female driver out. It was noted that Işık A. was injured on his hand during the intervention.
FIRST AID TRAINING WAS EFFECTIVE
It was stated that Işık A. had received medical training in Turkey for a while, later dropped out of this training to complete his engineering education, and also had first aid training. The driver, who reportedly settled in Canada about 9 years ago, requested that his last name not be disclosed.
