22-year-old Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated Novak Djokovic 3-1 in the Australian Open final, won his first title in Melbourne and his seventh Grand Slam championship overall. With this result, Alcaraz became the youngest tennis player to win titles at all four major tournaments, breaking the 87-year-old record held by Don Budge.

The Spanish racket broke the 87-year-old record of Don Budge, who completed a "career grand slam" at the 1938 French Open (22 years 363 days). Carlos Alcaraz became the 9th male tennis player in history to achieve a "career grand slam" after Fred Perry, Don Budge, Roy Emerson, Rod Laver, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic, who has 24 Grand Slam victories including 10 at the Australian Open, remained one step away from his 25th championship. The Serbian racket continues to share the title of the most successful tennis player of all time with Australian Margaret Court.
WON 4.15 MILLION AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS
Alcaraz, who achieved the championship, became the owner of a prize money of 4.15 million Australian dollars (approximately 125 million lira). Finalist Djokovic left Australia with a prize of 2.15 million Australian dollars (approximately 65 million lira).
