THEY DON'T WANT THEM IN THEIR DISTRICTS
Following the controversial post, reactions on social media grew exponentially, and a statement also came from the Midyat district of Mardin, where the series is filmed. Hüseyin Yücel, the President of Eğitim Bir-Sen Midyat District, stated in his announcement that they do not want the series crew in their district.
"THIS CITY DOES NOT ACCEPT THOSE WHO BETRAY THEIR CONSCIENCE"
In his statement, Yücel said, "This series, filmed in our district and embraced by our people, is no longer wanted here." He added, "This city does not accept those who remain silent in the face of pain, nor those who sell their conscience for a few pennies of sponsorship. The 'Distant City' series is only distant in the hearts of this people, just like its name."
