The search efforts following the disappearance of 76-year-old Ali Osman Kaya in Çorum led to the discovery of his dismembered body in a creek bed. His severed head was found in a wooded area. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
The severed head of the 76-year-old man, whose body was found dismembered in the riverbed in Çorum, was discovered in a wooded area approximately 3 kilometers away from the crime scene following the confession of the murder suspect.
According to the information obtained, Ali Osman Kaya, who resided in Ulukavak Neighborhood, left his home on January 28 around noon and was not heard from again.
TEAMS SPRANG INTO ACTION
Upon the missing person report filed by his relatives, search efforts were initiated by the teams. Investigations conducted by the Homicide Bureau of the Provincial Police Department revealed that Kaya was last seen in the Çatak Nature Park area. Following this, search operations were intensified in the region with the support of AFAD and gendarmerie teams.
THE OLD MAN'S SEVERED HEAD WAS FOUND IN THE FOREST
As a result of the efforts, Kaya's lifeless body was found dismembered in garbage bags in the riverbed. Initially, the head was not reachable during the searches conducted in the area.
After the statement of the detained suspect A.F.K., teams conducted another search in the area. The teams found the severed head, believed to belong to the victim, in the wooded area. After the investigation conducted by the crime scene investigation teams, the severed head was sent to the morgue of Hitit University Erol Olçok Training and Research Hospital for an autopsy. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
