Following the public release of new Epstein files, a video that began to circulate again on social media caused an uproar. The Communications Directorate issued a statement regarding the footage shared with the claim "The tortured Turkish child says 'I'm sorry, Arthur'." It stated, "The footage pertains to an old incident that was reported by the Brazilian press in January 2021. These images have no connection to Turkey or a Turkish child."

Newly released documents regarding Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison while being prosecuted on charges of establishing a network for the sexual exploitation and prostitution of underage girls in the U.S., have caused a seismic effect worldwide.

IMAGES CAUSED OUTRAGE

After the files were disclosed one by one, images shared on some social media accounts with the claim "The tortured Turkish child says 'I'm sorry, Arthur'" led to public outrage.

A STATEMENT FROM THE PRESIDENCY

The Communications Presidency's Disinformation Combat Center made a statement regarding the issue. The statement said, "The images in question are related to an old incident that was reported by the Brazilian press in January 2021. In the news from the Brazilian press, it was stated that the incident was a case of violence against a child by a father in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul; it was also understood that the child spoke Portuguese.

These images have no connection to Turkey or a Turkish child. This content has been previously raised and denied by our Disinformation Combat Center. The re-circulation of old and contextually detached images aimed at misleading the public is a deliberate disinformation attempt. It is requested that sensitivity and caution be exercised against such baseless claims."
