It was reported that 4 people lost their lives and 12 others were injured in a collapse caused by a landslide at a landfill site in Cebu, a city in central Philippines, the day before yesterday.

MORE THAN 30 PEOPLE MISSING

Cebu Mayor Nestor Archival stated in a post on his social media account that search and rescue operations are ongoing for more than 30 people who went missing after the landslide.

Archival noted that a more advanced crane should be used at the site, stating, "Authorities have confirmed the presence of signs of life detected in certain areas, which necessitates careful excavation work to continue."

Officials reported that fire, police, and volunteer rescue teams are continuing operations using heavy machinery and manual digging, but the work has been intermittently halted due to safety concerns.
