Mustafa Destici, the Chairman of the Great Unity Party, spoke about the hair braiding trend initiated by the DEM Party. Using harsh words towards the DEM Party, Destici said, "Now you have set your sights on our thousands of years of warrior tradition, on the braids of our ancestors? That braid is the mane of the Grey Wolf; it cannot be the toy of a jackal or a hyena."

A program was held at a hotel in Ankara to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the BBP's founding. The program was attended by BBP Chairman Destici, AK Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, CHP Ankara Deputy Adnan Beker, HAK-İŞ Chairman Mahmut Arslan, party officials, and many party members. The program, which began with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, continued with the screening of a video prepared for the occasion. Then, a message sent by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was read.

ERDOĞAN'S MESSAGE WAS READ

In his message, Erdoğan stated, "I thank you for your kind invitation and sincerely congratulate the 33rd anniversary of the founding of the Great Unity Party. On this occasion, I once again remember with mercy the founding Chairman of the Great Unity Party, the esteemed politician Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu. Just as our ancestors, who conquered these lands a thousand years ago, observed certain sensitivities, today we are walking in the same direction as a nation, and despite the turmoil in our region, we are confidently advancing towards our goal of a great and strong Turkey. When it comes to Turkey, I wholeheartedly believe that we will set aside all our differences and unite as 86 million hearts and one body, and that we will leave our mark on the 21st century, working tirelessly for our glorious flag to wave proudly all over the world. With these thoughts, I once again congratulate your party on its 33rd anniversary and greet you with respect. Stay healthy."

DESTİCİ: BBP HAS RELIED ON NATIONAL VALUES FOR 33 YEARS

Speaking at the program, BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici stated that in its 33-year political journey, the BBP has relied solely on the nation and national values, emphasizing that they have never abandoned the historical mission of the Turkish nation and the ideal of Turkish-Islamic unity, and expressed that they continue to steadfastly follow the line of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu.

"WHOEVER WANTS TO DEFEND PKK-YPG-SDG CAN GO"

Destici expressed that the Turkish nation is a whole and a brotherhood with all its ethnic, religious, and ideological differences, stating, "Despite the newly established Syrian administration's tolerance and patience that challenge borders, and despite all of Turkey's warnings, the Syrian branch of the PKK, the SDG, has failed to comply with agreements and continues its attacks on civilians, resulting in Syria's intervention in the SDG. The DEM members said they would defend it to the last drop of their blood. Whoever wants to defend PKK-YPG-SDG can go, the door is open, but they will leave without returning, leaving behind their Turkish Republic passports and identities. In Turkey, despite the resolute stance of our state, government, and the People's Alliance, the main opposition's group vice president, along with DEM members, opposed the operations against PKK-SDG in a joint press conference. They said there would be repercussions for Turkey. They made threatening statements. They thought the old order was still in place. The old order is no more. Either you lay down your arms unconditionally and without negotiations, or the state's noose will be around your neck and the hammer will be on your head," he stated.

"IN THE MUNICIPALITIES THEY WON, THE FIRST JOB WAS TO LOWER THE TURKISH FLAGS"

Destici stated that the attack on the Turkish flag is an expression of enmity towards the Turkish nation, the homeland, and the republic, saying, "For years, we have been subjected to the murders committed by the treacherous and vile terrorist organization established and nurtured to divide Turkey, as well as to their insults targeting our nation and values, sometimes directly and sometimes through their extensions. At the congresses and meetings of the so-called parties they established, Turkish flags were thrown on the ground. In the municipalities they won, the first job was to lower the Turkish flags from the poles and walls. Some parties say that the appointment of trustees should be stopped. What will happen, is there the slightest change in them? We are traveling all over Anatolia. We ask the citizens and the administrators there. We ask, 'Is there the slightest step back from these traitors?' They say, 'No.' They will do the same again. Political division unfortunately continues at full speed. Representatives of the so-called parties have disrespected our National Anthem at every opportunity and during every meeting they attended. They have insulted our nation, our state, our history, our beliefs, and our values from the podium of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey many times," he said.

"THAT HAIR BRAID IS THE MANE OF THE GREY WOLF, IT CANNOT BE A TOY OF THE JACKAL"

Destici emphasized that today there is an attack not only on borders but also on Turkish history and tradition, stating, "The YPG marauders across the border and their tie-wearing extensions in the Parliament have launched a new propaganda campaign in unison. What is it? They are trying to fabricate a legend for themselves through 'hair braiding.' I call out to those cultural paupers and historical destitutes. Who are you, and what is the ancient tradition of the Turk? Who are you to speak of the symbols of a state tradition that has lasted for thousands of years? That hair braid you are trying to use as propaganda material is not the ornament of a terrorist in the mountains, but the mane of Mete Han and Tomris Han, fluttering in the wind. That braid is the hair that Sultan Alp Arslan hid under his helmet when entering the Malazgirt plain, woven as a shroud. That braid is the badge of honor of the Göktürk khans, the brave Seljuk warriors, and the Turkmen chieftains who said, 'If I die, my hair shall be my shroud in my grave.' You imitated the Turk's 'börk,' but we did not swallow it. You tried to steal the Turk's holiday, Nevruz, the day of emergence from Ergenekon, claiming it was 'ours,' and you tried to dirty our fire with your filthy hands, but we did not let you. Now, have you set your eyes on our thousands of years of warrior tradition, on the hair braid of our ancestors? That hair braid is the mane of the Grey Wolf, it cannot be a toy of the jackal," he said.

"WE MUST SUPPORT MARRIAGES AND HAVING CHILDREN"

Stating that according to data, Turkey is among the first 5 countries facing the 'danger of losing its population,' Destici said, "Marriages are decreasing, birth rates are falling, and we are experiencing difficulties in maintaining the family institution. In recent times, we have informed and warned our nation and those in decision-making positions, from the state to politics, from civil society organizations to the media, and we have made proposals. We must support marriages and parenthood. Interest-free loans should be provided to married couples, and tax and interest reductions should be offered to help them own homes and vehicles. A separate and special support program should be implemented for families with three children. Strong and radical steps must be taken regarding violence against women. In other words, more deterrent measures and legal regulations should be established against all forms of violence. There should be no street gangs left; their roots must be eradicated, and new Ahmets and Atlases must not be lost," he said.

"THE 'DEATH PENALTY' HAS LONG BEEN APPROVED IN THE CONSCIENCE OF THE NATION"

Destici continued his remarks as follows:

"The 'death penalty' has long been approved in the conscience of the nation. Come, do not shy away from this. Let our nation make this decision. Our proposal is as follows; we suggest a referendum on the death penalty for terrorists, child murderers, and rapist perverts, for the murderers of Narin, baby Sıla, and teacher Aybüke Yalçın. Let's put the ballot box in front of the nation. Let's see if the nation says 'right to life' for baby killers or if they want 'the rope.' Let's see this together. We say that justice is to cool the heart of the victim. Mercy for the perpetrator is betrayal to the victim. We did not participate in this betrayal, and we will not. That rope will come out of that ballot box, and justice will be served."
