POLICE INSPECTOR LOST HIS LIFE
Many people were trapped in the giant swing. Police inspector Jagdish Prasad, who arrived at the scene, lost his life while trying to rescue employees and visitors, getting caught under the swinging structure. It was learned that Prasad had only 2 months left until his retirement.
13 PEOPLE INJURED
According to reports in the Indian media, 13 people were injured in the accident, including 2 female police officers as well as civilian visitors. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment after the first intervention at the scene.
INVESTIGATION INITIATED
An investigation has been initiated regarding the accident. Authorities stated that additional measures would be taken for the safety of visitors and that those responsible for negligence would be held accountable. Furthermore, security measures and inspections at the festival area will be reviewed again.
