Severe explosions occurred in succession in Munich, Germany. The police launched an operation due to the explosions and fires in the area. According to the initial assessment by the authorities, the explosions were caused by a person who rigged their home with explosives, set it on fire, and committed suicide.

Since the early hours of the morning, police and fire teams have been conducting a large-scale operation north of Munich. Special units and bomb disposal experts are also involved in the area. According to Bild, a series of explosions occurred during the incident, and gunfire was heard.

BURNT BUS AND BODY FOUND

A completely burnt bus was identified on the roadside at the scene, with a thick layer of fire extinguishing foam seen in front of the vehicle. Additionally, a male body was found in the area.

The deceased was assessed to have booby-trapped his family's house with explosives, set it on fire, and then committed suicide. It was also reported that at least one more person was found with gunshot wounds.

ACCESS TO THE AREA RESTRICTED

The address where the incident occurred was announced to be Lerchenauer Strasse in the north of Munich. The police cordoned off a large area with security tape. Authorities urged local residents and drivers to stay away from the area or to choose alternative routes.

NO CONNECTION TO OKTOBERFEST

Thick clouds of smoke were observed from nearby areas. Police Chief Inspector Thomas Schelshorn stated, "There is currently no danger to the public. There is also no connection to Oktoberfest."
