WHO IS FATIN RÜSTÜ KARAKAŞ?
Born in 1968 in Rize, Fatin Rüştü Karakaş is a graduate of the Department of Finance at Marmara University Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences. He also completed a master's degree in Money and Banking at Istanbul University.
Karakaş began his career in 1992 as an Assistant Inspector at the Audit Board of Şekerbank and has held various administrative positions in this institution for many years. In January 2013, he was appointed as the Secretary General of the Şekerbank T.A.Ş. Personnel Mutual Social Security and Assistance Foundation, and in November of the same year, he was appointed as the Deputy General Manager of Şekerbank T.A.Ş.
Karakaş also served as a Board Member of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) for a while, and in 2019, he was appointed as a Board Member of the SDIF, and later became its president.
With the newly published decision, Karakaş has been reappointed to the position of President of the SDIF.
