A brief panic occurred in front of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. A person who wanted to meet with an official opened fire three times into the air when he was not allowed to enter the Assembly building. The assailant, who later attempted to flee, was captured and detained by police teams.
A person who arrived by taxi at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) in the capital Ankara wanted to meet with an official at the Assembly.
FIRED INTO THE AIR WHEN NOT ALLOWED INTO THE ASSEMBLY
The person, who was not allowed into the Assembly and was reported to have family problems, came to the TBMM National Sovereignty Park and fired three shots into the air with his gun.
TRIED TO FLEE WHEN HE SAW THE POLICE
Assembly police arrived at the scene after hearing the gunshots. Seeing the police, the person tried to escape by throwing away his gun.
HE WAS DETAINED
The teams caught the person and detained him. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
