Murat Hilez, who lives in Diyarbakır, claimed that he was taken at gunpoint to a construction site from the house he went to in order to talk to his cousin, whom he believed had filed a lawsuit against him. He stated that after being bound with plastic handcuffs, he was subjected to violence for approximately 8 hours. Six suspects who were detained in connection with the incident have been released.
Murat Hilez, who lives in the Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır, went to his cousin's house the other day to talk, as he allegedly believed they were taken to court by him. Hilez was taken to a construction site at gunpoint by other cousins who came to the house before he could speak with his cousin.
THEY TORTURED HIS COUSINS FOR 8 HOURS Claiming he was beaten on the way and at the construction site, Hilez stated that he was tied up with plastic handcuffs and subjected to insults and violence for 8 hours. Hilez escaped from his cousins, who wanted him to admit that he had taken them to court, under the pretext of needing to 'go to the bathroom.' Feeling safe with the presence of traffic police during his escape, Hilez filed a complaint against his cousins. Six suspects who were detained were released after their procedures at the police station.
"I WENT TO TALK TO HIM" Murat Hilez stated that he left his house around 9:00 AM last Thursday, saying he was going to the bank to make a payment. "I wanted to talk to him the night before because I heard F.H. saying 'Murat took me to court,' but he didn't meet with me. I went to his house to meet him in the morning. While I was waiting at his door, F.H. immediately called his brothers," he said.
"THERE WERE TRAFFIC POLICE, THEY RAN AWAY WHEN THEY SAW ME" Murat Hilez claimed that four people came and hurriedly forced him into a car. "They said to take me to the construction site. As we were leaving, his brother pointed a gun under my chin and threatened me. He hit me on the head twice with the butt of the gun. They didn't pull the gun from my waist until we reached our destination. F.H. came there and asked for my phones. I said they were left in the car. They told me to give them the keys to my car. When I didn't, they tied my hands and feet with plastic handcuffs and threw me to the ground. They forcibly reached into my pocket, took out my car keys, and V.H. and A.H. took my phones from inside my car. They accessed my phones without my consent, going through my images, private messages, WhatsApp, everything one by one. Then they gave me my phone back. They beat me and insulted me. At that moment, F.H. said, 'If I kill you here and bury you under this ground, who will find you?' They said I would have to make a confession. Someone had taken him to court over a debt. They said I had made this debt, and I would have to give my lawyer's confession. I said he is my lawyer, but that man had taken me to court. Despite my insistence that I had no connection, they beat me for 8 hours and kept me waiting in the cold with my hands cuffed. Later, they said I would have to write and sign this paper in the cabin. They said I would have to confess. 'You will say that I, Z.O., planned everything and did it together.' Later, I threw myself into the street under the pretext of needing to go to the bathroom and got into a commercial taxi. They came and forcibly pulled me out of the taxi. They told the taxi driver, 'This is a thief, a thief,' and stopped the taxi. I threw myself to the ground. There were traffic police there, and when they saw me, they ran away. I was half-naked. I was already under the surveillance of the KGYS cameras. Later, security forces arrived. I filed a complaint against my cousins. The prosecutor's office took our statements. I gave my statement at the police station. For God's sake, let this not go unpunished. We used to be partners; we have no legal issues. We haven't seen each other for 4 years," he said.
"WHEN WE ARRIVED, HE WAS OUTSIDE NAKED" Eda Hilez stated that she sent a message to her husband and did not receive a response to her calls. Noting that the phone was turned on and off, Eda Hilez said, "It seems that the men with him, V.H., O.H., F.H., and A.H., are turning off the phone and taking it from him. They kept him there for 8 hours inside the construction site. He called me. 'Run, they have tied me up,' he said. I left the stove on and took my child. When we arrived, Murat was outside naked. The men were there, and when they saw us, they ran a little further and escaped. They insulted, threatened, and cursed at us. At that moment, A.H. kicked me too. After that, we went to the police station and filed a complaint. I believe the state will not let them get away with this," she said.
