The new regulations prepared for housewives to gain social security and benefit from retirement rights offer advantages such as premium support, the right to wear and tear, and age reduction. These steps aim to facilitate the retirement process for millions of women. While legal preparations on the subject are ongoing, we have compiled the most frequently asked questions.

The retirement regulation aimed at housewives facilitates retirement with premium support and the right to wear and tear. Age reduction based on the number of children and the possibility of partial retirement will increase women's access to social security.

RETIREMENT BECOMES EASIER WITH PREMIUM SUPPORT

With the new regulation, one-third of the voluntary insurance premiums of housewives will be covered by the state. Thus, the monthly premium payment of 8,321 TL will decrease to 2,773 TL, making retirement more accessible.

WEAR AND TEAR RIGHT WILL REDUCE PREMIUM DAYS

Thanks to the wear and tear right granted to housewives, an additional 90 days of premium will be earned for each year. This will contribute to a decrease in the total number of premium days and accelerate the retirement process.

AGE REDUCTION BASED ON THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN

Within the scope of the regulation, a reduction of 1 year in retirement age is planned for each child, and a reduction of 3 years for three or more children. This way, mothers with many children will be able to retire at an earlier age.

PARTIAL RETIREMENT POSSIBILITY

Housewives will be able to obtain the right to partial retirement with 15 years of insurance duration and 4,500 days of premium payment. This will allow them to start receiving retirement pensions in a shorter time.

LEGISLATION PROCESS CONTINUES

The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, stated that the regulation will be presented to the Economic Coordination Board in June or July. Once the legislation process is completed, housewives will start to benefit from these rights.
