Unknown video footage of the series of photographs signed by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, which are displayed in museums, has also emerged. The series of photographs and video, believed to have been taken by a photographer in Istanbul in 1927, was found in a documentary about Atatürk made in the 1950s.

Video footage of a series of photographs taken by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk during his presidency at a photo studio in Istanbul has emerged. A student named Ali Taner Tümer (22), who has archived Atatürk's previously unseen or rarely known photos and videos, accessed this series of photographs and video, believed to have been taken in the mid-1950s, from a documentary.

Providing information about the photographs and video footage related to the photo shoot, Tümer stated, "It is known that the footage was recorded after Atatürk's arrival in Istanbul on July 1, 1927. The photographs were taken by a photographer in Istanbul, and a short film of Atatürk was made. I believe the footage is longer, and it has not been shared before with the correct date and information."

THE FIRST TERM OF THE PRESIDENCY

Tümer, stating that the date when these images and photographs were recorded corresponds to the first term of the presidency, said, "The footage was taken in July 1927. This information is supported by the fact that our founder signed photographs for important heads of state and some people in his close circle on specific dates. For example, one of Atatürk's photographs was the cover of the Servet-i Fünun magazine in July 1927. It is known that he signed it for the Soviet Ambassador Suriç. Another example is that Atatürk signed this photograph for his closest friend Nuri Conker Bey in September 1927, which is found with a collector; I happened to see it."

PHOTOS BELONG TO HIS AGE OF 46

Tümer also pointed out that there is very little known information about Atatürk's series of photographs, stating, "One important reason I shared the footage on May 19 is that our founder gifted this holiday to the youth. Another very important reason is that he was the youngest president elected, in his third year of presidency, and he was only 46 years old. This film and photographs recorded in 1927 document how young our founder looked."

POSES FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Stating that the video of this series of photographs is a very rarely known footage, Tümer explained that when the video is watched, it can be seen that the photographs and the footage match. Tümer said, "Gazi Paşa is posing in a special way at a photo workshop or with a photographer in Istanbul. I believe there is a much longer version of these photographs and the video. I think it might be in the TRT archives or in an archive that has not yet been opened. I have been working on Atatürk's images and photographs for 5-6 years, organizing the photos and footage I find and archiving them with exact dates. This is the first time I came across this footage. I had shared the second footage before. The reason for its match with this footage is that Atatürk is in motion in the first footage. In the second and third footage I listed, it was not clear whether it was a video of Atatürk or something normally shot. But thanks to finding this first footage, it was understood that both the photo and the video were taken together."

THERE MAY BE OTHER SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHS

Stating that the footage comes from a documentary about Atatürk made in the 1950s, but the details of the documentary are unknown, Tümer said, "It seems to have been broadcast on a television channel that no longer exists today. I identified it from a flowing image. The fact that the images and photographs are together at the same time is especially understood from our founder's handkerchief. Is it possible that there is another series of photographs of our founder in this way? I think there is a possibility, but it is very difficult. Perhaps it has been in the hands of a collector for years. It may never have seen the light of day."
