Ali Önder, the brother of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, made a statement regarding his brother's health condition. He expressed that they were happy to see Sırrı Süreyya Önder's condition being stable and mentioned that there was a difficult surgery process.
The treatment of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who is currently in the hospital, continues. His brother Ali Önder stated, "We say it is God's will. Of course, the fact that his condition is currently stable makes us happy. It is said to be a positive process."
Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and Istanbul MP of the DEM Party, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, was hospitalized on the evening of April 15 due to heart problems. Önder underwent a surgery that lasted for hours, and his treatment in the hospital continues.
STATEMENT ON HIS HEALTH STATUS FROM HIS BROTHER
Ali Önder, the brother of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, made a statement regarding his brother's health condition. Ali Önder, who said, "It is a difficult surgery," added, "There is always a risk. In this sense, we say it is God's will. Of course, the fact that his condition is currently stable makes us happy. It is said to be a positive process. Because the body needs to rest, and the organs need to recover. We are hopeful and waiting," he expressed.
"A MIRACLE HAS OCCURRED HERE"
Önder, who stated that he has been careful not to enter the intensive care unit where his brother is, said, "A miracle has been realized here. Our doctors literally dug a well with a needle. I don't want to leave anything on this patient who has been brought back with such effort. We are in a hospital environment; no matter how sterile you enter, I don't need to see it. I am content with the news given by the doctors. I hope he recovers soon and returns to us so we can all see him together," he said.
THE SURGERY LASTED 12 HOURS
It was reported that Sırrı Süreyya Önder's heart stopped twice while he was in the ambulance and during the surgery on April 15, and he was intervened. After the first intervention, a tear was detected in the aorta, and Önder was urgently taken into surgery, which lasted approximately 12 hours.
Önder was taken to intensive care after the surgery. In the first statement made by the hospital, it was stated that Önder was connected to a heart circulation support device.
HEART MASSAGE WAS PERFORMED FOR 10 MINUTES
In the statement made by the hospital regarding the surgery, it was explained that a heart and lung massage lasting 10 minutes was performed on Önder in the emergency room, and a tear in the aorta was detected. The statement said, "Subsequently, at 23:05, there was again a rhythm disorder, and the pulse and circulation stopped." It was stated, "Our patient was urgently taken to the operating room, and the operation started at 23:35."
BY-PASS WAS PERFORMED, AORTIC VALVE WAS REPLACED
In the hospital's statement, it was also mentioned that a by-pass procedure was performed on the right coronary artery of Önder's heart, and the aortic valve was replaced. The following statements were used: "However, due to such a large dissection and involving the right coronary artery that supplies the heart, despite the success of all surgical processes, the right side of the heart is not contracting well, while the left side is contracting well. After the surgery, which lasted nearly 12 hours, our patient Mr. Önder was taken to our intensive care unit with ECMO (heart circulation support device). His life-threatening condition still continues."
