Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's senior advisor and Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fuchs made a critical statement regarding the future of military operations in the Gaza Strip, issuing an explicit ultimatum to Hamas. Fuchs announced that Hamas has a 60-day deadline to surrender all its weapons, and if this condition is not met, the Israeli army will resume the halted operations in a more comprehensive manner.
Israel made a striking statement regarding its Gaza policy towards Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's close aide, Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fuchs, announced that military operations would resume if Hamas does not surrender its weapons.
In his assessment, Yossi Fuchs stated that Hamas was given a 60-day period to surrender all its weapons, and at the end of this period, Israel would restart its military operations. Fuchs emphasized that Israel has not backed down from its military targets in Gaza.
In his statement, Fuchs noted that the complete disarmament of Hamas is one of the key elements of Israel's security strategy, saying, "Hamas has two options: Either it surrenders all its weapons within the next 60 days, or the halted military operations will be resumed more decisively."
PROCESS OF HALTING OPERATIONS
It is noted that international diplomatic efforts and negotiations for hostage exchanges have played a role in the limited continuation of military activities in Gaza recently. However, Fuchs' statement revealed that the Israeli administration views this process as a temporary period.
ISRAEL'S CONDITIONS
According to Israeli sources, the main steps expected from Hamas within the 60-day period are as follows:
The surrender or destruction of all heavy and light weapons in Hamas's possession,
The complete neutralization of the tunnel systems in Gaza,
The cessation of activities by armed elements.
It was noted that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) would resume operations in Gaza if these conditions are not met.
