A person claiming that he could not see his 9-year-old daughter went into a frenzy in the Karasu district of Sakarya. The persuasion process that started over the phone ended with a face-to-face intervention on the beach, and the events resembled scenes from a movie.
A person named M.G. in the Karasu district of Sakarya went into a frenzy, claiming that he could not meet his 9-year-old daughter on the beach.
RAN TO THE BEACH AS SOON AS HE HUNG UP THE PHONE
M.G. called Cihan Emre, the President of the Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen in the district, explaining the situation and saying he would jump into the sea. During the phone call, Cihan Emre tried to persuade him. After the conversation, Emre left his office without wasting time and went to the beach where M.G. was located to continue his persuasion efforts face to face.
MANAGED TO PERSUADE HIM EVEN THOUGH IT TOOK A LONG TIME
The tense moments on the beach gave way to calm after long persuasion attempts, and the individual was brought under control. Police teams dispatched to the scene took M.G. to the hospital under police escort for a health check.
The phone conversations, the persuasion process that started in the office, the moments of going to the beach, and the face-to-face persuasion efforts produced images that rivaled film scenes.
"WE WITNESSED A FAMILY DRAMA"
Cihan Emre, the President of the Karasu Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, described the events as follows: "Today, we witnessed a family drama. A 45-year-old man named M.G. said he would leave a note for his 9-year-old daughter and jump into the sea. I held him on the phone and was about 4 kilometers away. I left the Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, and my friends informed the teams. When we arrived at the scene, the individual wanted to harm himself and jump into the sea. He entered the water, and we pulled him out. We witnessed a family drama. We handed over the person, who said his issue was not being able to see his 9-year-old daughter and that he had come here from Istanbul, to the health teams with the police. I also promised to help him after this process. I hope such family dramas do not happen."
