On the 12th day of the Israel-Iran war, while a ceasefire was in effect, Israeli Defense Minister Katz made unsettling statements during a live broadcast. Katz stated, "Israel will attack Iran again if it feels threatened."
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz gave an interview to Israeli Channel 13 regarding the events that took place during the Iraq-Israel conflict, which lasted 12 days and ended with a ceasefire led by the United States.
"WE WANTED TO KILL HAMENEY"
Katz admitted that they wanted to kill Iran's religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the conflicts. He stated that Israel did not need permission from the U.S. to kill Khamenei, saying, "We wanted to kill Khamenei, but we did not find an operational opportunity."
"HE WENT VERY DEEP"
Katz claimed that Khamenei knew he would be "killed" and that he went "very deep" by cutting off contact with the commanders who replaced the Revolutionary Guards leaders killed in the first wave of attacks.
"IT WILL BE HARD FOR THEM TO RESTORE NUCLEAR FACILITIES"
Katz stated that if Tehran makes 'progress' in its nuclear program, Israel has received a "green light" from the U.S. to attack Iran again, saying, "I do not see a situation where Iran will restore its nuclear facilities after the attack." On the other hand, Katz expressed, "Israel will attack Iran again if it feels threatened."
