An important change is taking place in the vehicle inspection system in Turkey. The new brand, Turka, will start operating from 2027. This transformation, which will spread through a dealership system, will initiate a new era in the industry.

TÜVTÜRK, which has been providing vehicle inspection services in Turkey since 2005, will transfer its duties to the new brand Turka by the end of 2027. The MOI Joint Venture Group, which won the tender organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with a bid exceeding 1.7 billion dollars, will carry out vehicle inspection services between 2027 and 2047.

NEW BRAND: TURKA

Turka was established in partnership with the Met-Gün Group from Turkey, the US-based Opus Group, and the Spanish Itversia Gestion S.L and VTV Norte SA. The group will provide services with the understanding of "next-generation vehicle inspection" and will take over the system as of August 15, 2027.

STARTING WITH 249 STATIONS, FRANCHISE SYSTEM COMING

Serhan Salman, a member of the Executive Board of Turka, stated that they will start operations in 2027 with 249 vehicle inspection stations, and this number will be increased according to demand. Turka will implement a franchise system for the first time. Entrepreneurs will be able to apply through www.turka.com. Applications from those with financial qualifications and who provide a reference letter will be prioritized.

NUMBER OF VEHICLES INCREASING, INSPECTION BECOMING CRITICAL

Salman emphasized that "In 2024, there were more than 31 million vehicles on the road. More than 1 million new vehicles are added to traffic every year. With this increase, the importance of vehicle inspection will also grow," highlighting that the new system will have a dynamic structure.

WILL BE A FIELD HOSPITAL IN DISASTER TIME

The stations will be built with infrastructure that can transform into a field hospital during disasters, not just for vehicle inspections. Additionally, renewable energy-based, sustainable systems will be established, providing employment for 4,500 people. Employment of women is also among the priorities.

SPECIAL TEST INFRASTRUCTURE FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES

The new system will also include a special test infrastructure for electric vehicles. Salman stated, "In the systems we will develop with the Ministry's permission, driving safety and the satisfaction of vehicle owners will be our top priority."
