The name of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life in a knife attack in Istanbul, will be given to a stand at Papara Park by Trabzonspor Club.
The Super Lig giant Trabzonspor announced that the name of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life in a knife attack in Kadıköy, Istanbul, will be commemorated at Papara Park.
THE NAME OF THE TRIBUNE WILL CHANGE
In a statement made by the club, it was said, "As Trabzonspor Club, we have decided to change the name of our Fırtına Tribune located at Papara Park to 'Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi Tribune' to commemorate Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life at a young age due to a treacherous attack. This decision has been made not only to honor a name but also to be the voice of conscience, brotherhood, and the pursuit of justice. Mattia Ahmet's joy of life was intertwined with his passion for football. It is one of our fundamental duties to keep his name alive in the world of football to which he was passionately connected. As Trabzonspor, we are determined to protect our youth from all forms of violence. This tribune will now be not just a place, but also a name representing a value, a stance, and a call," it was stated.
Furthermore, Trabzonspor Club President Ertuğrul Doğan, along with board member Gözde Atasoy, visited to offer condolences for Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi last month, meeting with his mother Yasemin Akıncılar Minguzzi and his uncle Tahsin Semizoğlu.
