The Spanish giant Real Madrid announced that four individuals who hung a doll dressed in a Real Madrid jersey with "Vinicius" written on it from a bridge have been sentenced to prison.
A prison sentence has been given to Brazilian footballer Vinicius Junior for racist behavior in the city of Madrid.
4 FANS SENTENCED TO PRISON
The Madrid Provincial Court announced its decision today regarding 4 fans who hung a black toy doll dressed in Vinicius Junior's jersey from a bridge near Real Madrid's facilities before the match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey on January 26, 2023.
It was stated that the defendants also displayed a banner at the scene saying "Madrid hates Real Madrid," and one of them spread this act on social media. While the individuals who carried out the act expressed their remorse and accepted their crimes in court, each was found guilty of a hate crime. The court sentenced one of the defendants to 1 year and 10 months, while the others received sentences of 1 year and 2 months in prison. It was also decided that the defendants must pay the imposed fines, not approach Vinicius Jr. within 1,000 meters for 4 years, and not communicate with him in any way.
THEY ARE ALSO BANNED FROM ENTERING THE STADIUM
Additionally, during this period, they will not be allowed to enter or approach any football stadium during sporting events.
