In the classroom, a female teacher expressed that the statement "cowardly sultan" directed at Sultan Vahdettin does not reflect the truth. In her new video, she stated to those who declared her an enemy of the republic, "I am a full supporter of the republic. I am extremely pleased with the people's will governing the country."
During the lesson, the female teacher, who made evaluations based on the phrase "coward sultan" directed at Sultan Vahdettin, stated that this phrase does not reflect the truth.
SAID "NOT COWARD" FOR VAHDETTIN
The female teacher pointed out that during Sultan Vahdettin's era, the Ottoman lands were effectively under occupation, claiming that the weapons were confiscated and that British soldiers were guarding these weapons. She mentioned that only 700 Ottoman soldiers were allowed to remain armed and that these soldiers were tasked with protecting the sultan. The female teacher conveyed that the sultan expressed his concern that Hagia Sophia would be converted back into a church and, for this reason, he wanted armed soldiers to protect not himself but the Hagia Sophia Mosque.
RESPONSE TO "ENEMY OF THE REPUBLIC" CRITICISMS
While the echoes of these words continued, the female teacher recorded another video to respond to the criticisms directed at her as an "enemy of the republic." Stating that she did not take these criticisms into account, the teacher said, "I am a full supporter of the Republic. I am extremely pleased with the people's will governing the country."
