SINAN BOZTEPE IS STEPPING DOWN
Antalyaspor AŞ President Boztepe announced at a press conference held at the Antalya branch of the Turkish Sports Writers Association (TSYD) that he will be stepping down from his position.
Boztepe, who appeared before the cameras with Vice President Ali Altun, and Vice Presidents Cesur Burak Akar and Mehmet Bora, made statements regarding the club's financial structure, the general assembly process, and future plans. Boztepe stated, "The general assembly of the Antalyaspor Club Association has been held. It was requested that a financial general assembly with elections be held on the AŞ side as well. Our concern is not the chair, but service. We will gather the management on Monday to make a decision for the general assembly, and I will resign from my position."
Stating that some managers have been subjected to seizure due to tax and social security debts, Boztepe said, "Our managers thought of Antalyaspor before their own companies. However, some of our friends who were left without security resigned. The institutions that form the club in Antalya took positions against each other. There is no such picture in any city in Turkey." he said.
''IF WE HAD MALICIOUS INTENT, WE WOULD HAVE LOCKED THE CLUB''
Boztepe emphasized that they did the right thing in player sales, saying, "There was a 3.2 million euro offer for Kaluzinski, but we waited for a 4 million euro exit fee. We could have sold and bought what we needed, but we did not do that."
Noting that there has been an 8 million euro increase in debt over two years, Boztepe stated, "Even leaving the club with this debt without any income is an achievement. If we had malicious intent, we would have signed 2 players for 5 million euros, collected our receivables through player sales, and locked the club."
Boztepe pointed out that the club's management structure was an important factor in Emre Belözoğlu's departure and expressed that a meeting with the coach could be arranged again.
