DETENTION DECISION AFTER THE SCANDAL FOOTAGE
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation regarding the scandalous footage comparing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu aired on the program titled 'Turkey's Direction' on the television channel Tele1. An investigation was initiated ex officio for the crime of 'publicly insulting the President' against the television's General Director Merdan Yanardağ, Responsible Manager İhsan Demir, and Program Moderator Musa Özuğurlu, and a detention decision was issued against them.
CHANNEL MANAGERS RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL
After their statements, a judicial control decision was issued for the three suspects, who were referred to the court, with a travel ban condition.
