U.S. President Donald Trump is speaking at the UN General Assembly. Trump stated that he has ended seven different wars during his seven-month term, saying, "I am persistent in seeking peace in Gaza, but recognizing Palestine is a reward for Hamas."
The 80th session of the UN General Assembly, which brings together the leaders and senior representatives of member countries of the United Nations (UN) for a week in New York, has begun. US President Donald Trump is making statements.
Highlights from Trump's statements are as follows:
"In just 7 months, I ended 7 different wars. They said, 'These cannot be ended,' but I did. The UN could have done this in my place. The UN didn't even try to help. Not once did I receive a phone call from the UN offering assistance. Many lives were saved. The only thing I received from the UN was an escalator.
CRITICIZED THE UN
The UN has a very high potential, but it doesn't even come close to that potential. They write strong letters to Israel, but they are always empty words. What resolves wars are actions, not empty words.
I came here to extend the hand of friendship from the US. I promise prosperity to all nations that want to join us. Immediately after taking office, I wrote a letter to Iran's so-called religious leader, proposing cooperation, but they continued their threats. Today, all of Iran's former commanders are dead.
We have the best weapons in the world, but we don't really like to use them.
"THIS IS A REWARD FOR HAMAS"
Currently, some countries recognize Palestine regarding the Palestinian issue. This is a reward for Hamas. I worked very hard for a ceasefire in Gaza. We could have united to immediately release the hostages. There are 20 hostages left. We need to get them all back at once."
