Colombian bodybuilding champion Zunilda Hoyos Mendez was brutally killed with a hammer in her rented home in Spain's Costa del Sol region. The 43-year-old athlete, known by the nickname "She Hulk," had a large following on social media. Her boyfriend, 46-year-old Jarrod Gelling, who was also in the same house, is believed to have died from self-inflicted stab wounds. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Zunilda's family revealed that the young woman had been missing for several days and had traveled from Dubai to Spain. Her niece Yuleydis stated that her aunt had decided to divorce and wanted to separate from her husband due to aggressive behavior. It was noted that the couple had previously experienced issues and had separated briefly but had gotten back together.

Police discovered the couple's lifeless bodies in the house following a missing person report filed by one of Zunilda's friends. The woman was found with signs of assault on her body, while the man is thought to have committed suicide. If Zunilda's death is recorded as violence against women, it will be the third femicide in the Malaga region in 2025.

The athlete had over 100,000 followers on platforms like OnlyFans and Fansly. She had placed second in the Latin American championship in 2021 and was preparing for new competitions. Her coach, Branden Rey, said, "We had 17 days left until we were supposed to go on stage. I had said she would be in the top 10 worldwide. Rest in peace, Amy."

Her close friend and coach Behnaz Azar shared her feelings, stating, "She was the strongest and at the same time the kindest-hearted woman I have ever known." The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
