The U.S. Department of the Treasury has added one individual and eight companies to its sanctions list for their role in the supply and transportation of precision machinery for Iran's defense industry. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the aim of the sanctions is to prevent Iran from enhancing its weapon capabilities.

The U.S. government has added one individual and eight companies to its sanctions list for allegedly providing and transporting precision machinery for Iran's defense industry.

As the conflicts that began with Israel's attacks on Iran continue, discussions have arisen regarding whether the U.S. will attack Iran.

U.S. SAID 2 WEEKS

In a recent statement from the White House, it was announced that U.S. President Donald Trump would decide within two weeks whether to attack Iran; meanwhile, a notable move came from the U.S.

SANCTIONS ON IRAN'S CRITICAL SECTOR

In a statement from the U.S. Treasury Department, it was reported that organizations supplying precision machinery for Iran's defense industry were targeted.

The statement noted that one individual and eight companies were added to the sanctions list for allegedly providing and transporting precision machinery for Iran's defense industry.

Additionally, it was mentioned that sanctions were imposed on a ship belonging to Hong Kong-based Unico Shipping, with the aim of preventing Iran from developing its missile and other weapon capabilities and cutting off access to resources for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and its proxy elements.

STATEMENT FROM THE U.S. TREASURY SECRETARY

In the statement, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent expressed, "The U.S. is determined to thwart any efforts by Iran to procure precision, dual-use technology, components, and machinery that form the basis of the regime's ballistic missile, drone, and asymmetric weapons programs."

Bessent emphasized that those supporting these plans would be held accountable, stating that they would continue to reduce Iran's ability to produce and proliferate these deadly weapons that threaten regional stability and global security.
