The General Directorate of Coastal Safety announced that the 100-meter-long cargo ship named 'Razouk', flagged from the Comoros Islands, was successfully refloated through a rescue operation after running aground off the coast of Sarıyer.
The General Directorate of Coastal Safety reported that a 100-meter-long cargo ship flying the Comoros flag, which ran aground off Sarıyer, has been rescued. In a statement from the General Directorate, it was reported that the ship named "Razouk," which ran aground at the Kısırkaya location in Sarıyer, was rescued with the coordination of rescue experts, along with the tugboats Kurtarma-1, Kurtarma-6, Kurtarma-9, and Kurtarma-22, and the boats KEGM-3, KEGM-9, Bayrak-1, accompanied by a land rescue team. The statement noted that the General Directorate of Shipyards and Coastal Structures also collaborated and provided support during the rescue operation process.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The cargo ship named "Razouk," flying the Comoros flag and measuring 100 meters, had departed from the Port of Constanța in Romania and was sailing towards the open waters of the Bosphorus when it ran aground off Kısırkaya on February 2. Following a report, teams from the Coast Guard Command and the General Directorate of Coastal Safety were dispatched to the area. No request for assistance was made from the ship, but the captain had requested a medical evacuation. Upon request, the captain was taken from the ship using a rope system called varagele by the teams of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety and handed over to medical teams, and he was returned to the ship by the teams on February 4. Furthermore, it was learned that the ship had been damaged by aircraft while sailing towards Russian ports on January 22, off the coast of Kastamonu Cide.
