Local council members Stefano Tozzi and Gianluca Caramanna described the incident as a "violation of the law in broad daylight." Officials speaking to the Corriere newspaper emphasized that they have repeatedly drawn attention to such incidents. The council members also pointed out that the event occurred near a building known to be inhabited by illegal squatters, stating, "The heart of Rome has become a no man's land."
Health officials also expressed their concerns, reporting cases of scabies and various diseases in the area. Marco Coppola, the vice president of the committee responsible for the region, stated, "This incident is just the tip of the iceberg. Crime and theft incidents are also on the rise in the area."
