In Gaziantep's Şehitkamil district, Mayor Umut Yılmaz conducted an inspection at a food production facility. When he saw spoiled tomato paste and jams on the floor, he asked the owner of the company, "Would you feed these to your mother?" When he received the answer, "Of course not," Yılmaz, getting angry, replied, "I won't even leave you to God." Yılmaz also stated that he would personally file a complaint against the business.
In the Şehitkamil district of Gaziantep, a food inspection led by Mayor Umut Yılmaz revealed a production facility where hygiene rules were completely disregarded and expired products were found. The events during the inspection shocked both Mayor Yılmaz and the public.
MOLDY PASTES, SPOILED JAMS, EXPIRED PRODUCTS...
Accompanied by municipal police teams, Mayor Yılmaz visited a food production facility operating in the district for inspection and reacted strongly to the scene he encountered inside. Moldy pastes, spoiled jams, and expired food products were identified within the facility. Seeing the environment completely devoid of hygiene conditions, Yılmaz harshly criticized the company official.
"WOULD YOU FEED THESE TO YOUR MOTHER?"
Examining the moldy pastes in the facility, Mayor Yılmaz turned to the company owner and asked, "Would you feed these to your mother?" Upon the owner's response of "Of course not," Yılmaz intensified his reaction by saying, "Are you feeding things you wouldn't feed to your mother to other children?"
"I WILL PERSONALLY FILE A COMPLAINT, I WILL GO TO COURT"
Seeing spoiled jam jars being kept on the shelf during the inspection, the Mayor expressed his anger with the following words: "You haven't explained why you kept the spoiled jam. Would I let people like you dirty this country? Gaziantep is a city famous for its gastronomy, and you are polluting it. We caught 80 tons outside, 4 trucks of goods. I will personally file a complaint, I will go to court. People like you shouldn't even sell gum in this country. You deemed these things worthy for those children, and I won't even leave you to God."

Mayor Yılmaz also shared the footage of the inspection on his social media account. In his statement, he emphasized that no business threatening food safety would be tolerated, using the following expressions: "No one can betray the people's table in Şehitkamil... We encountered such audacity during our inspections that we couldn't believe our eyes. Spoiled pastes, moldy jams, expired products... In unhealthy, unhygienic environments. We will not allow anyone to lay eyes on the bread earned by the sweat of this nation, or on the health of our children. Every bite that our citizens safely place on their tables is our honor. With this awareness, our inspections will continue without slowing down. We thank everyone who stands for health, honesty, and halal earnings. We are here, standing tall for the health of our people."
ADMINISTRATIVE AND JUDICIAL ACTIONS INITIATED
Authorities reported that administrative and judicial actions have been initiated regarding the facility in question. Municipal teams announced that inspections on similar businesses would be intensified.
