Heavy rainfall in the Bodrum district of Muğla, which was warned about with an orange code by the meteorology department, has flooded the area. Citizens were unable to walk on the streets due to the natural disaster, and vehicles were tossed in the middle of the road. While municipal teams worked to clear the overflowing drains, tow trucks attempted to move stranded vehicles to the side of the road.
After the orange code warning from the Meteorology and AFAD, the downpour that started in Muğla paralyzed life, especially in the Bodrum-Turgutreis and Gümbet areas. Streets and avenues turned into lakes. Some vehicles were stranded on the road.
VEHICLES WERE TOSSED
As the drains became clogged, the water level rose rapidly. Citizens were unable to walk on the streets, and vehicles were tossed in the middle of the road. Drivers trying to move forward through the water fought hard not to succumb to the flood.
MAJOR CHAOS IN TRAFFIC
While municipal teams mobilized to clear the overflowing drains, tow trucks tried to move the vehicles stranded in the flood to the roadside. The gendarmerie directed traffic in a controlled manner, but the queues extended as far as the eye could see. Intermittent heavy rain continues in the district, and teams are on alert for new floods.
