One of Belgium's cultural heritage symbols, the Manneken Pis statue, will be dressed in Galatasaray's 5-star jersey. To date, the statue has worn over 1,100 different outfits, and it has previously worn only the jersey of the Anderlecht football team as a football kit.
The new costume of the iconic 406-year-old symbol of the city, the Manneken Pis statue, in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, will be the 5-star jersey representing Galatasaray's 25th championship. For the first time in its history, Manneken Pis will wear the jersey of a Turkish team.
WILL WEAR A TURKISH TEAM JERSEY FOR THE FIRST TIME
The new costume of the Manneken Pis statue, which is one of Belgium's cultural heritages and has worn over 1,100 outfits to date, will be Galatasaray's 5-star jersey. The statue had previously only worn the jersey of Brussels' local football team, Anderlecht. With this meaningful event, for the first time in its history, a Turkish team jersey will also be featured on Manneken Pis.
This special celebration organized by the Belgium Galatasaray Fans Association will take place on Tuesday, June 24, at 15:00 in the heart of Brussels, Grand Place Square. The President of the Brussels Regional Government, Rudi Vervoort, and the Mayor of Brussels, Mr. Philippe Close, will also participate in the event.
