The number of people who have lost their lives in the protests that have been ongoing in Iran for 29 days has risen to 5,848, while a notable move came from the Tehran administration following the United States' deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to the Middle East. The Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization released a propaganda video simulating that Iran's Fattah ballistic missile could split the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in two in the event of a possible conflict with the U.S.
The US-based Iranian Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) announced that the number of people who lost their lives in protests that started due to economic issues in Iran has risen to 5,848.
According to HRANA's report, 41,283 people have been detained as a result of incidents in many parts of the country. In the events that occurred during the protests, 5,848 people, including 209 security personnel, lost their lives. HRANA had reported yesterday that the death toll had risen to 5,459.

As protests continue on their 29th day in Iran, a notable move came from the Tehran administration following the arrival of the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Middle East and its anchoring near Iran last night.
THEY RELEASED A PROPAGANDA VIDEO
The Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization, which is state-controlled in Iran, released a propaganda video simulating that Iran's Fattah ballistic missile could split the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in half in a potential conflict with the US. The video also shows the aircraft carrier strike group entering the Middle East.
PROTESTS IN IRAN
Protests that began on December 28, 2025, led by shopkeepers in the Grand Bazaar of Tehran due to the rapid depreciation of the local currency against foreign currencies and the deepening economic troubles had spread across the country.
During the intensified protests in the capital Tehran on January 8, the government had blocked internet access due to the incidents that occurred. In a statement made yesterday by the Forensic Medicine Institution of the Iranian Martyrs and Veterans Foundation, it was reported that 3,117 people, including security forces and civilians, lost their lives during the incidents that occurred during the protests.
It was stated that 2,427 of these individuals were security forces and civilian citizens killed by "armed terrorist groups," while no information was provided about 690 people. Although the protests in Iran have ceased, HRANA, based in Virginia, USA, continues to update the death and detention counts, claiming to have verified more cases.
