Four days ago, a forest fire broke out in the Aliağa district of İzmir and spread towards Foça. Panic moments emerged when a fire truck belonging to the Forest Management Directorate was caught in the flames. The team was saved thanks to the composure of the fire truck driver.

Following the incident, fire crews affiliated with the İzmir Regional Directorate of Forestry were quickly dispatched to the area. To bring the fire under control, aircraft and helicopters intervened from the air, while water tankers, fire trucks, heavy machinery, and a large number of personnel intervened from the ground.
HOUSES WERE EVACUATED
The flames, which advanced towards the district of Foça and grew here, reached the rural Ilıpınar Neighborhood by the evening hours. As a precaution, some houses in the area were evacuated, and animals in the barns were also moved to safety.
THE WATER TANKER TRAPPED IN THE FLAMES MANAGED TO ESCAPE AT THE LAST MOMENT
One of the most critical moments of the fire occurred in the Kayadeli area. A water tanker belonging to the Aliağa Forestry Directorate was trapped among the flames. The driver of the vehicle, Talip Terim, demonstrated great composure and courage, managing to get the vehicle out of the fire area with the help of his team member. The water tanker was saved without being damaged by the fire, while Talip Terim and his colleagues narrowly escaped from that life-threatening moment.
CONTROLLED AFTER 21.5 HOURS
As a result of the intense struggle that lasted throughout the night, the fire was brought under control after 21.5 hours of work. Cooling efforts continued throughout the day. The local community thanked the teams for their swift and determined fight against the fire.
