İYİ Party Deputy Chair Kevser Ofluoğlu announced that they left the congress hall after it became clear that the deputies elected from İYİ Party would switch to the AK Party and wear their badges during the AK Party's 8th Ordinary Congress.
İYİ Party Deputy Chair Kevser Ofluoğlu stated that they left the AK Party's 8th Congress in protest, saying, "It became clear during the congress that İYİ Party deputies would switch to the AK Party and wear badges. In response to this attitude, which is not in line with the will of the voters and political ethics, we left the hall."
Kevser Ofluoğlu and Alper Akdoğan, who attended the AK Party's 8th Ordinary Congress, left the hall when it became clear that badges would be given to the deputies who resigned from the İYİ Party.
"WE PROTESTED THE ATTITUDE NOT IN LINE WITH POLITICAL ETHICS"
After the protest, İYİ Party Deputy Chair Kevser Ofluoğlu stated, "As the İYİ Party, we accept respect for political ethics and the will of the voters as a principle of our politics. For this purpose, we attended the AK Party's 8th Ordinary Congress at their invitation."
Ofluoğlu continued her statement by saying, "We also waited for the end of their General President's speech out of courtesy. There were rumors before the congress that some of the deputies elected from the İYİ Party would switch to the AK Party, but there was no clarity. During the congress, it became clear that these deputies would switch to the AK Party and wear badges. In response to this attitude, which is not in line with the will of the voters and political ethics, we left the hall with the knowledge of our General President, Mr. Müsavat Dervişoğlu."
"GOODBYE TO THOSE WHO LEAVE, SAFE JOURNEY"
İYİ Party Deputy Chair concluded her statements by saying, "This event is, at the very least, an electoral fraud. As İYİ Party members, we will continue to carry our party badge, which symbolizes the sun, with our honor, dignity, and integrity, standing tall like the republic, and prioritizing the interests of the Turkish nation and state in our politics. We will continue to carry this historical mission on our shoulders. Goodbye to those who leave, safe journey."
