The National Intelligence Organization captured Temir Dükancı, one of the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Reyhanlı in 2013 that resulted in the deaths of 53 people, while he was attempting to flee from Syria to Lebanon during a cross-border operation. The MIT had previously captured Yusuf Nazik, one of the attackers, in 2018, and Muhammed Dib Koralı in January 2025, bringing them to Turkey from Syria.
According to information obtained from security sources, the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) captured Temir Dükancı, one of the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Reyhanlı in 2013 that resulted in the deaths of 53 people, while he was trying to escape from Syria to Lebanon as a result of a cross-border operation.
MIT MONITORED STEP BY STEP MIT determined that Temir Dükancı, who is engaged with Syrian intelligence and is the perpetrator of the Reyhanlı attack, assisted in the transportation of explosives used in the Reyhanlı explosions to Turkey via sea routes and provided vehicles to carry the explosives.
It was learned that Dükancı, whose activities were monitored step by step by MIT, planned to escape to Lebanon due to recent developments in Syria. It was determined that Dükancı was looking for a fake passport to carry out an action against Turkey's diplomatic missions abroad with the organization members he would gather there. Following the identification of Dükancı's exact location, who is listed in the orange category of wanted terrorists, action was taken. Dükancı, one of the perpetrators of the Reyhanlı attack, was captured by MIT in a cross-border operation conducted at the Syria-Lebanon border and brought to Turkey. Dükancı, who was caught while trying to escape from Syria to Lebanon, was handed over to the Hatay Provincial Police Department.
