"FROM NOW ON, NO MORE BROTHER'S BLOOD WILL BE SHED, WE WILL REUNITE WITH OUR CHILDREN"

Mehmet Aydın's father, Nihat Aydın, stated that they have been waiting for this day since 2019, saying, "Thank God, today the announcement came that the PKK has disbanded. We thank President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Devlet Bahçeli for their efforts; may God bless them, as not everyone could do this, they succeeded. God willing, from now on, no more brother's blood will be shed, we will reunite with our children. Of course, we have a holiday coming up; hopefully, we will reunite with our children before the holiday and celebrate a double holiday. Our only wish and hope is this. From now on, as our President said, we will live together in brotherhood as one flag, one state, one nation. Thank God, peace has been achieved, the PKK has disbanded, and all our children will hopefully reunite with their mothers and fathers. Some will get married, some will start businesses, some will have children, they will have homes, and they will be free from the mountains and caves," he said.

"FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 6 YEARS, OUR FACES ARE SMILING"

Süleyman Aydın, Özkan Aydın's father, said, "I am a father who is keeping a vigil for my child. This morning, we saw on television that the terrorist organization PKK has disbanded and decided to lay down arms. This has become a great hope for all of us; believe me, for the first time in 6 years, our faces are smiling, we are happy here because the PKK laying down arms means our children returning. We sincerely thank our President and Devlet Bahçeli, all political parties, and everyone who contributed to this process for starting a Turkey without terrorism. For the first time in 6 years, our faces are smiling here. You see, we are here with our mothers, waiting for our children to return this time. We are all happy here; we thank everyone very much. Enough is enough; as the people of Diyarbakır, we want a Turkey without terrorism, and we will continue to wait for our children here, God willing," he said.

We are very happy; the PKK laying down arms means the return of our children. God willing, we will reunite with our children, and we will hold them in our arms. Until now, we were sad looking at lifeless photos; now, God willing, we will hold them alive in our arms and embrace them," she said.
