Leaving trash in front of the apartment, which often causes disputes, will now result in high fines. While the municipality and police teams are increasing their inspections, a single complaint will be sufficient for a penal action. Although the amounts of fines for leaving trash vary by region, they can reach thousands of lira. Those who make noise in residential areas may face administrative penalties of up to 334,000 lira.
The Environmental Law considers garbage bags left in front of apartment doors as a form of environmental pollution. This situation not only leads to bad odors and pest problems but also causes disputes among neighbors in the apartments.
PENALTY FOR LEAVING GARBAGE IN FRONT OF THE DOOR
A new application is starting in apartments. If it is determined during inspections that garbage has been left in front of the apartment door, an administrative fine is imposed directly on the homeowner or tenant. Although the amounts of the fines vary by region, they can reach thousands of lira.
ONE REPORT IS SUFFICIENT
Municipalities and law enforcement teams are increasing their inspections based on incoming complaints, and even a single report is considered sufficient for a penal action.
The aim of the application is to maintain order in apartments and eliminate the long-debated issue of "garbage disposal." Municipalities are warning citizens to comply with garbage disposal times and to leave waste only at designated points.
PENALTIES OF UP TO 300 THOUSAND LIRA
According to Haber 7; there are heavy penalties for many environmental violations besides leaving garbage at the apartment door.
For those who do not establish or operate waste facilities: fines of up to 1 million 671 thousand 844 TL.
For those causing noise pollution: administrative sanctions ranging from 11 thousand TL to 334 thousand TL, depending on the nature of the violation.
Environmental and urban planning experts emphasize that the main purpose of these fines is to raise awareness among citizens and to maintain order in their living spaces.
