Murat Gözde (48), who lives in Adana, used a hair darkening shampoo he purchased online upon the recommendation of his barber, after which he developed swelling on his face and eyes and a wound on his head. Gözde filed a complaint against the company that produced the shampoo.
Murat Gözde (48), who lives in the 2000 Evler neighborhood of the Seyhan district, bought the hair darkening shampoo online last week upon the recommendation of his barber due to the whiteness in his hair. Gözde claimed that he applied the shampoo to his elbow as instructed in the usage guide, and after 48 hours without any reaction, he washed his hair.
HIS EYES SWELLED, WOUNDS APPEARED ON HIS HEAD
Shortly after using the product, Gözde experienced an allergic reaction on his face. His eyes swelled, and he developed infected wounds on his head, prompting him to visit a health center. Upon the doctor's advice, Murat Gözde began using soothing creams. Despite three days passing, the swelling and wounds on his face did not subside, leading Murat Gözde to go to the police station and file a complaint against the company.
"I WAS VERY AFRAID I WOULD LOSE MY EYES"
Describing his experience, Murat Gözde said, "I bought this product upon the recommendation of my barber. First, I applied it to my elbow, and after 48 hours, I applied it to my entire hair. Then my face and eyes swelled. I developed wounds on my head. My condition is very bad. I was very afraid I would lose my eyes. I will file a lawsuit for material and moral damages," he said.
Stating that the whiteness in his hair did not turn black, Gözde said, "I bought the shampoo online for 301 lira. Such products should not be easily accessible; regulations should be put in place for their sale," he added.
