In Samsun, Cengiz Altınel shot and killed his wife, with whom he was in the process of getting a divorce, at the restaurant where she had just started working two days ago, and then committed suicide. It has been revealed that the woman had obtained a restraining order about a week prior. It was reported that around 25 students from a special education class were at the restaurant for a breakfast program at the time of the incident.

Unfortunately, another one has been added to Turkey's bleeding wound of femicides. In the Etyemez neighborhood of Alaçam district in Samsun, Cengiz Altınel (40) wanted to talk to his estranged wife Pınar Altınel (32), who had started working two days ago in the restaurant section of a gas station.

During the argument that started in the restaurant, Cengiz Altınel shot Pınar Altınel with the gun he had with him and then committed suicide. Upon notification, police, gendarmerie, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical teams determined that Cengiz and Pınar Altınel had died at the scene. The lifeless bodies were taken to Alaçam State Hospital for autopsy after the gendarmerie teams' work.

It was learned that the couple, who were in the process of divorce, lived separately, and Cengiz Altınel worked as a clerk at the Alaçam District Public Library. At the time of the incident, it was reported that approximately 25 students from the special education class of Alaçam Cumhuriyet Primary School were in the restaurant for a breakfast program, and there were no injuries.
