The Supreme Election Council announced that local elections will be held on June 7, 2025, in a total of five settlements that gained town status in Tokat, Gümüşhane, and Nevşehir.

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) evaluated the decision to restore the municipal status of certain settlements in its meeting today.

In line with the decision, it was decided to hold elections in a total of five municipalities: Yolüstü and Çevrecik municipalities in the Reşadiye district of Tokat, Bağtaşı municipality in the Almus district, Tekke municipality in the central district of Gümüşhane, and Mustafapaşa municipality in the Ürgüp district of Nevşehir.

YSK announced that the Local Administration elections in these municipalities will be held on June 7, 2025. Thus, elections will be held for mayors and local administrators in settlements that have long awaited the restoration of municipal status.
