According to a statement from the Syrian Presidency, an agreement has been reached regarding the integration of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which is occupying the northern part of the country, with state institutions.
PKK/YPG WILL JOIN STATE INSTITUTIONS
According to the agreement signed between Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara and the leader of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG, known by the code name 'Mazlum Kobani', Ferhat Abdi Şahin, the PKK/YPG will lay down its arms and integrate into state institutions.
DETAILS OF THE AGREEMENT
The details of the 8-article agreement are as follows:
- Guaranteeing the right of all Syrians, regardless of their religious or ethnic background, to representation and political participation based on merit.
- Recognizing the Kurdish community as an inseparable part of Syria and guaranteeing their constitutional rights.
- Establishing a ceasefire throughout all Syrian territories.
- Integrating all civil and military institutions in northeastern Syria, including border crossings, airports, and oil and gas fields, under state administration.
- Ensuring the return of all displaced Syrians to their hometowns under state protection.
- Supporting Syria's fight against all threats to the remnants of the Assad regime and the country's security and unity.
- Rejecting calls for division, hate speech, and attempts to incite conflict.
- Starting the work of implementation committees to ensure the agreement is implemented by the end of the year.
